Dine With The Donkeys – A Great Success!

The Dine With The Donkeys day held at the Cross on 1st May was great success – so much so that a story of the day features on the Donkey Sanctuary website.  Click here to read more….

Billy Shears – 60s Night!

Saturday 28th May, from 7:30pm, sees music maestro Billy Shears coming to the Cross Inn.  Performing hits from the likes of the Beatles, Otis Reading and Simon and Garfunkel it promises to be an entertaining evening out.  Entry is free but there will be a charity raffle.

Cowboys At The Cross

A big thank you to Hoarse Doctors and to everybody who came to to make the Cowboy and Country evening such a success.  The costumes were fabulous, as was the entertainment.  Most importantly, nearly £200 was raised for ‘Riding For The Disabled‘.  In response to popular request, we will be holding a similar event later in the year.

Dine With The Donkeys

A reminder that on the Sunday 1st May between 11:30am and 4:00pm is our annual Dine With The Donkeys event.  A charity lunch to raise money for the Donkey Sanctuary and the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust.

Many attractions including cake stall, gift stall, raffle, tombola and live music all day.  See the Events page for full details!

Village Litter Pick – March 26th

Can you spare a little of your time to help make our village neat and tidy?  If so, please come to the car park of the Cross Inn, the Old Courthouse or The Snooty Fox at about 9:50am.

Please note  that to comply with insurance regulations, you must be fit, between the ages of 15 and 70 and be wearing protective, high visibility clothing.  Some Hi Vis jackets are available and will be on site, but if you have your own, please do bring them.  You may also wish to bring along any garden tools that may be useful to you for litter collection.  We look forward to seeing you!

6 Nations At The Cross Inn

A large screen will be available at The Cross Inn for all the home matches during the Six Nations rugby tournament

Post Office

For ourselves, and on behalf of everyone who uses the Post Office, we would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Dinah and Martin for all their hard work, help and dedication.  Both go well beyond the call of duty when it comes to looking after their clientele and we are sure you want to to join us in expressing our gratitude and appreciation for everything they do.

BTW – there are no changes planned for the Post Office.

Charity Events 2010

Despite thr recession, cutbacks, price rises and general financial misery, you have all been even more generous, to the extent that this year over £9,000 has been raised for charity.  What a wonderful window on the kindness and thoughtfulness of all you good people both locally and further afield.  From the bottom of our hearts – THANK YOU!

P.S A special thank you to those who have been so generous throughout the year in donating raffle prizes – Kate, Rita, Beryl, Vi and many more.
